There’s absolutely nothing, nothing, like curling up with a blanket/throw in front of a good chick flick with a cup of thick and creamy hot cocoa.
Living among different cultures and nationalities gives you insight into different traditions and a chance to try out new things.
Growing up in the Middle East meant that shawermas, manakeesh, baklava, basboosa and maamoul were among the few things popular in our home. I think trying out diverse things at a young age helps sharpen your sense of adventure even as an adult. I’m never opposed to trying out new foods- there may be certain things I don’t find appetising, but those aside, trying out different flavors and brand new recipes is something I relish. There’s no better way to embrace the strawberry season then to make Strawberry Cream Puffs.
Choux pastry is by far one of my most favorite pastries and for something so delicate and fancy, it is actually pretty simple to make. And let’s not forget that when you bring it out to serve your guests, it always impresses!
I think I’ve OD’ed on cookies.
Don’t get me wrong, you can never have enough of cookies and this time of the year is brutal for anyone on a diet! Is it just me or is anyone else putting on a couple pounds by just scrolling through their Instagram feed?
This Cinnamon Chip Chocolate Cookies recipe has been swirling around my mind for a couple weeks now and after working on it a couple times, I’m sure I’ve got the perfect fall/winter cookie for you!
As far as I can remember, there have always been cookies at home- chocolate chip especially. Or m&m cookies. I don’t think there are many children who don’t enjoy cookies!
I feel like I’m losing my voice. Not literally. Just what makes me, well, me.
Or maybe I’ve just let too many outside voices in. If that makes any sense.
I think I just need some stimulating company with some conversation that makes you ponder about..everything.
Life has been so crazy recently, filled with unexpected curve balls poppin’ up outta no where paired with the constant back and forth between the different cities has left me with not much of a routine. No routine means a lot of time wasted for me! Especially if I’ve got some good romance novels nearby!
I realise it’s been a minute since I last posted so I’m bringing you my second most favorite Middle Eastern treat to make up for it: Manakeesh bil Za’atar or Flatbread with Za’atar! It’s also called Man’oushe.
Happy World Pasta Day! I’ve got a beautiful, flavor packed pasta that’s got my Roasted Red Pepper Pesto singing delightful notes of its sweet smokiness paired with fresh cherry tomatoes, chilli garlic mushrooms and fresh basil just waiting to transport your taste buds into pasta filled heaven. But before we get onto that, I’ve got a question..
Today was one of those walking leisurely hand-in-hand kinda days, ending with a good hour spent at a bookstore, so I’d say the best way to end it would be with some delicious pasta and a romantic setting.
Since I’m going to have to forego making this flavorful pasta for hubs and me since we’re still out of town, I’m going to ask you to put it together for us.
Make it, enjoy it and have a couple bites for us!
I think if there could be 24 more hours in a day, I’d be able to dabble a little bit in the many different hobbies I have an interest in.
What’s one thing you would definitely try to do (more of, maybe) if you had a few more hours during the day? Continue reading “No Fuss Roasted Red Pepper Pesto”
Hello my fabulous foodies! Today’s recipe is a dreamy Blueberry Almond Pie but before we get into that..
Don’t you just love surprises?
I know I do! I might love guessing them as much as being completely taken by surprise, which makes it really difficult for my husband to actually surprise me. Not that I feel entirely too bad about it ’cause that just gives him a challenge to be more creative! (Just kidding!)
He has, however, gotten really good at them- caught me by surprise twice this year- which really is something!
I am at the moment sitting far, far from home because of his second surprise and totally loving it!
Which brings me to the beautiful blueberry pie recipe I wanna share with you guys- it perfectly suits the crisp weather and beautiful Swiss city I’m falling in love with!
