I am going to deviate from the health path that I’ve been racing down on with these fun, delicious wontons.
I was so incredibly stoked when I came across wonton wrappers when I was visiting my Mum recently. I grabbed a package, super excited to try something out- especially since while we are staying at our place in the town, Chinese food is a rarity. I grabbed the package, stuck it in Mom’s freezer while I stayed a couple days, then forgot about it when I headed back home.
These wonton wrappers and I have had quite an adventure together!
I’m more of a dim-sum girl. However, hubby loves, loves, loves his Chinese food and he absolutely loves his crispy chicken wontons. Granted these weren’t a copy of what he usually orders in when we’re in the city, they were still deemed delicious.
It was International Hummus Day on the 13th, which I missed all due to being on a flight! But International Hummus Day is officially one of my favorite days of the year!
I have always loved this Mediterranean dish and even more so when I began to make it and realised just how healthy it was! Better yet, is the fact that it is so versatile, you can add so many different ingredients to make different versions of the same thing!
I know I’m a couple days late for the Mother’s Day post, but if you continue reading down below (below the fold for us journalists!), you will see I had it all typed out and just got to editing my photos a little late. I was travelling Sunday, which happened to be International Hummus Day, aka one of my top favorite days/dishes ever, and wasn’t able to post that either. Which is hilarious in a I-can’t-believe-this-but-so-expected-it way, as I have had the recipe and photos ready for a couple days. I mean I am so completely OCD about every little detail especially when it comes to cooking/baking and writing that I don’t understand how I drop the ball some days. My tune this week is all about being laaa-aate. Thank God I’ve got travel to blame and not laziness!
Not just for Mother’s Day, but everyday! It is perfect for I-Love-You Saturdays and Just-Because Sundays. It’s a super indulgent breakfast that’s great for any celebrations because the flavour is so widely loved. So fun to even prepare the batter with kids on a weekend morning.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I spent the last couple weeks at my parents but as my luck would have it, flew out today on Mother’s Day! Since every day should be a cause of celebration of the incredible woman who brought us into this world, raised and guided us, wiped away our tears and has the strongest shoulders to lean on, I made my momma these delicious pancakes a day before!
Any Marvel fans here? Have you watched the new Avengers movie yet? ‘Cause I haven’t and, well, browsing through Instagram has become just a teensy bit difficult as I try to avoid spoilers. I read one hashtag by mistake and hmm.. I’m kind of bummed. I’m really hoping I misread it though, so let’s see!
